Freeze/lock rows and linked values
We use Baserow + Carbone to generate invoices and contracts from table records. Once a document is generated, we’d like to freeze that row / record as a snapshot.
Freezing should:
-
Prevent manual edits unless the row/record is unfrozen.
-
Freeze values coming from linked tables, so later changes to those records don’t alter the frozen record.
We want to preserve the exact state of a row at the moment a document is generated.
I think this would also be valuable for anyone using Baserow for administrative, financial, contractual, or other auditable workflows, where records need to remain exactly as they were when approved, submitted, processed etc. Linked data changing retrospectively can make it difficult to determine/catalog what information a record contained at a particular point in time.
Since Baserow’s record history already tracks previous values, could a “Freeze row” feature build on that existing version history system?
