What are the exact steps to reproduce this issue?
Export table as a CSV
Edit CSV (Adding text info to rows)
Importing CSV
Crash…
I’m choosing file, see that everything lines up perfectly in the preview, then, upon importing I get a crash 10/10 times. I’ve been trying to to imports for over a month and nothing works.
This is a non-profit project, but at work (I’m a master data specialist and work with SAP, Stibo systems and more) I very often export data, manipulate in excel, import… Never a problem. Here I can’t seem to update one single row with simple text… I don’t get it.
Attach screenshots, videos, or logs that demonstrate the issue.
It’s more or less a straight exported CSV where I’ve added links to 4 fields and I’m trying to get them into their respective records. It all shows upp nicely in the preview but fails on loading. No matter what I do or try
I have this problem, too, but only in one of my tables. The only thing I can figure is it’s because of the “Date” field, which is of type “Date”. Selecting US or ISO doesn’t help. I’m able to import if I change the “Date” field to the type “Single line text”, but it gets the columns wrong for a lot of the date (maybe a different bug).
@Caesar I’m still not able to reproduce the issue you were experiencing here. The csv imports fine on my side that you sent me. Are you sitll getting the same issue you had?
@walden can you provide me the csv you are experiencing the same issue with?
I just tested importing on a fresh Table, and other than having to manually create the Fields first, it imports without any problems.
Importing into the exact same layout, but created by my Template, doesn’t work.
The template has had some changes over time, like Fields being moved to a different order, etc. I’ll try re-creating this table in the Template, with everything starting in the proper position/order. Then we’ll know if the error is tied to Field ID’s being out of order (for lack of a better understanding).
I’ve figured out what’s making it fail (at least for me).
My template has a table which has gone through a few adjustments. Importing the template would create Fields (columns) in the correct visual order, but with out-of-sequence ID numbers.
Trying to import a .csv would show the same error as @Caesar is seeing.
I deleted and recreated that table in my Template, this time creating each field in the correct order so they have sequential ID numbers.
Now, when importing the same .csv into a table created with the template, it works as expected.
I still get the same error. Now I manually updated all fields.
I can create a new table from scratch with a CSV. But I’ve never been able to update one. It seems like that should be a simple routine task but yeah, no success what so ever yet.
And the fields I want to update are only link fields, identified by a text field
