Make-Baserow to update Google Doc

Newbie looking for help getting Baserow table to create/update Google doc template.

Hey there @that_one_guy, welcome to the forum.

Could you give some details of your table and the google doc template? Are you familiar with services such as n8n, Make or Zapier?

Appreciate it @cwinhall! I’m trying to create a database of our product information that can auto-update/create new documents of our product datasheets if any changes are made to the product information.
Below is a screenshot of the current setup in Make

Error message I am receiving

Google template setup

I’m not familiar with Google Docs and templates using Make but my guess is that you need to format the request being sent to Google Docs as an array inside the “Values” part of that module, where you are just simply sending the SKU, Name, etc values. They aren’t structured so Google is not able to map them. Are you not able to use the other method in this module by selecting By Dropdown instead of By Mapping?

I tried looking for how google (or Make) expects this request to be sent but I couldn’t find an example. Unfortunately, this is more a question that you are likely to get a better answer in from the Make community forum or Google community Q&A.

Hi @that_one_guy! We have a tutorial on creating Google Docs with Baserow and Make that might be helpful for your use case: How to create Google Docs automatically.

I ended up using Zapier and it is much more intuitive, but appreciate the response! Plan on revisiting soon
