Would be great to have an “x” in the search to quickly clear it, even better right next to the search element.

Hey @andrewgelman, unfortunately this feature isn’t ready yet. We know it’s useful (even if small), and we’ll try to include it in the next release.
Sorry for the delay — it’s not that we don’t see the value, but as we get closer to a release, the focus tends to shift to larger features, and this one didn’t make it in this time.
