as per the title example:
copying this:
will result in this:
it seems \ is added when you go into a new line inside the text , i tried this on desktop browser and mobile browser
note: on mobile browser when using share instead of copy it wont add the \ so if i hit share and select WhatsApp app and select any chat it will be pasted without \
This does not happen for me. What OS and browser are you using?
Could you try using the shift+ctrl+v / shift+cmd+v shortcut to try paste without formatting and see if this still happens for you.
that happen when you copy text in the enlarged view
windows 10 pro:
google chrome and Firefox
Android 14 one UI 6.1 :
i tried copying from opera browser and chrome browser ( i tried “paste” and “paste as plain text” ) in WhatsApp and notes app
1 important note i just noticed :
this happen when i copy text from notepad and paste it in long text cell
if i type into the cell directly another problem arise example:
if i type directly into the cell:
test1
test2
test3
after paste they become: (new empty line is introduced after each new line)
test1
test2
test3
if i copy from notepad and paste inside the long text cell if anyone try to copy from it it will be:
test1\
test2\
test3
Hi @hani.yassine.0 I’m afraid that this was quite hard for me to follow and I’m not exactly sure how best to advise you at this moment.
try to type a text on a notepad (on windows) copy that text and paste it inside a long text cell then from a browser try to copy it’s content and paste it somewhere and you will see what i mean
example on windows :
when i copy from long text cell and paste inside a notepad the results are like this:
as you can see there is “\” that been added this happen on windows pc and phone browser
I do not get the same results as you. I do not get any back slashes
ok now i know what is the problem this only happen if you enable rich text formatting if you tick it it add \ at the end of each line when you copy the text
note: when i unticked it it showed \ after each line before even copying (\ was hidden when i had rich text ticked)
