Footer Aggregations in Shared Views?

Hello, my shared views are missing their configured footer aggregations, and won’t let me configure any new ones. This seems like a bit of an oversight, or am I missing a setting somewhere?

The aggregations are pretty critical in summarizing a view, public or not. The original issue opened for this feature mentioned “It must also work in the publicly shared grid view (can be done in a separate issue).” but I cannot find that separate issue…

EDIT: It seems explicitly disabled on public views for some reason
