Permissions for collaborators

I am new to this, I am using the free version but plan to get the Saas version and if my business takes off I will prob eventually try to self host.

Anyway, my concern now is about permissions for collaborators.

As a free user, I can only assign “member role” to any new collaborators I invite to my workspace. Members can do editing.

I checked the subscription plan, I can do either monthly or annually.

Suppose I have 3 users in this workspace including myself and because they are “members” they are able to edit apps. So If I was to subscribe to the premium plan, that means I’d have to pay for 3 users.

While that is fine, my question now is what if I they both decide to leave and I paid for 3 annual premium subscriptions and let’s say they both use their personal email accounts like gmail.

Does that mean the paid monthly subscriptions are attached to their personal email accounts or are they attached to the admin’s email account (the person who paid for 3 premium subscriptions)? If so could I easily give these subscriptions to other remote workers who prefer to use their personal email accounts?

If anyone working for Baserow who could shed light on this that’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @kev_z,

in general the subscription for the saas version is always for one workspace (you can change users) or for the whole instance (if self-hosting).

In saas, the number of seats is automatically updated every night and the changes are prorated, so you shouldn’t be overpaying for unused seats. So as long as you use the online version you shouldn’t be worried about the number of users - you will be charger for the number of paid users in the workspace always. If you overpaid and use less users then the money will be used automatically for the next billing period by our subscription provider Paddle.

Let me know if you have any other questions

I believe that answers my questions for now, thank you
