Pressing TAB to increase indentation in long text editor closes editor view

Are you using our SaaS platform (Baserow.io) or self-hosting Baserow?

SaaS

What are the exact steps to reproduce this issue?

  1. open a table w. a long text field
  2. double click on a cell of the long text column to open editor view
  3. created a bulleted list
  4. position cursor on one of the list items
  5. press TAB to increase indentation (same bug w. SHIFT+TAB) and… unfortunately notice that editor window closes

Opening the editor view again, I see indentation change has been taken into account, but reopening the editor view for each indentation change is… tedious.
Bug occurs both in Chrome & Firefox, which I use on my macbook.

In the demo video attached, @ 00:05 I press SHIFT+TAB, which decreased indentation but also closes editor window (which I do not want since I want to continue editing). Same thing @ 00:10. For some weird reason, in video bug does not happen @ 00:04 & 00:08 when I increase indentation by pressing TAB. But it does occur on TAB press in another baserow DB I have.

Upload field doesn’t allow me to upload neither a .mov nor a .zip file.

Hi @abouffard, welcome to the community!

I just tested this on my side and this seemed to work as expected for me. Increasing and decreasing the indent using the tab key.

Perhaps you have a plugin/extension that is affecting this behaviour? Could you try opening Baserow in an incognito/private tab to test if this issue persists?

Hello Colin,

Thanks for your quick reply.
Glad it worked on your setup (macbook too?).

I just did a test opening incognito windows in both Chrome (v139.0.7258.128, latest) and Firefox (v141.0.3, displayed as “up to date”) : same bug :sob:.

Thanks for checking that!

I am using Windows. I’ll ask someone from the team to try and reproduce this on Mac. I’ll keep you updated.
