QoL Idea for description boxes

Hi! I’ve been using Baserow for the past week to build a database of employees, and it’s been a blast! The simple UI makes it perfect for the HR team to work with, even without much technical know-how.

Anyway, I’ve run into a small issue that’s been bugging me. It’s about the field descriptions. My setup relies heavily on descriptions, and some of them are quite long. I love that there’s no text limit and that’s awesome! But the problem is with how those long descriptions are displayed.

When I need to read them, I have to scroll, but it’s quite difficult to move the mouse to the description box to do that. As soon as I move the mouse even slightly outside the box, it disappears. I think it would be great if the description boxes were a bit more forgiving with mouse positioning. That way, it would be easier to scroll, select, and hover over the box, not just the small “i” icon.

Hey @maxlopez, thank you for your kind words, we appreciate your feedback. :blue_heart:

I’ll discuss with the team the field descriptions and how/if we can improve the UX here for long descriptions. I’ll get back to you on this as soon as I have any updates. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @maxlopez, this is actually a bug, and we created this issue to fix it: Field descriptions scroll issue (#3648) · Issues · Baserow / baserow · GitLab
