Question about opening Thunderbird email (.eml) directly from Application Builder

Hi Everyone,

I’m using the Baserow Advanced self-hosted plan and I have a question regarding the Application Builder.

When I drag and drop an email from Thunderbird into a Baserow file field, it uploads as a .eml file and generates a URL.

I created a button in the Builder that contains this .eml file URL. However, when I click the button, the file is automatically downloaded by the browser.

What I would like is for the button to open the email directly in Thunderbird, instead of downloading it first.

Is there any way or configuration to make this possible?

I don’t think there is a quick workaround for this right now, but we are looking into it. I’ve created an issue that you can keep track of: https://gitlab.com/baserow/baserow/-/issues/3853

I’ll let you know once we have a better idea of how to get around this (or a potential feature/fix).
