Timelines urgently need a conditional Y dimension

Hi,

I am using Baserow for project management. I see there’s a template for Project Management so it’s good to know I’m not alone.

Previously I was advised by Baserow to add a tasks table to manage individual items in a jobs. I was also advised I would better see the tasks duration and other detail in the timeline if I assigned a start and end date to each task.

However, this is only part of the story with project management.

The Start and End date provide a good X dimensions to timeline. However, we urgently need the ability to define a Y dimension.

For example, I and other project managers urgently need a timeline view by Start/End date for each Employee. Where X is start/end date (current) and Y is a conditional lookup of a Table named Employees.

Yes, some of the jobs are repeated for each employee assigned to the jobs, but that is really the point. From here I can easily plan my labour resources and jobs.

Immediately I can see where resources assigned to multiple jobs on the same day, and I can see resources with very few assignments and resources with zero.

From here I it is now up to me to either manage the resource, the jobs of both, but currently with Baserow I’m struggling to do either.

Hey @Thorby, I’ll discuss your feedback with the team and will get back to you on this. :raised_hands:
