UX suggests that hiding the list view by default is not good for UX

Hello BaseRow team,

I’m delighted to contribute a small suggestion for our excellent product. Its speed is impressive compared to Airtable, it’s user-friendly, and it’s Open Source.

The View feature is one of Base’s most useful features because it allows pre-filtered data views. Just a click reveals the needed data.

With BaseRow, this isn’t immediately visible; we have to click the view button, which I find hides it and makes it harder to remember what we’ve created, slowing down data retrieval.

I’d like to suggest a UX change to default to displaying the list of views for immediate access, with an option to collapse it to avoid screen clutter during use.

Thank you sincerely,
Binh

Hey @dangngocbinh, thank you for your kind words!

We agree, and we have this issue to allow users to display views as a fixed sidebar: Introduce the option to display views as fixed sidebar instead of floating context. (#2072) · Issues · Baserow / baserow · GitLab. It’s coming soon :slightly_smiling_face:
