Zapier says there are no new rows

I’m reasonably proficient in Zapier, and set up my first Zap using Baserow. It’s supposed to watch for rows created or updated and if the “Status” column matches “Generate Contract” it uses a Google Doc template to draft a basic freelance contract and then drafts an email that I can review and send.

It works fine when I test it, so I know the connections are all there, but when I finished testing and left it to run, nothing happens. I added two new rows and manually clicked the “Run” button and Zapier says:

Zap run failed
We couldn’t find any new rows.
This message will dismiss after 10 seconds.

I was able to edit the Zap, choose one of my newly created rows as the “selected record” to test with, confirm that my filter conditions would have been met by running that step, generate the Google doc and email draft. So it works if I run it manually.

But Zapier can’t seem to tell that I have created or edited rows. What might I be missing here?

I tried using a form to create a whole new entry in one fell swoop, and that did trigger Zapier to run. And triggering it to run on an update also seems to work. It just fails on “new or updated” as the trigger.

This is very exciting.

Hello @amandabee, we tried to reproduce this issue and the trigger seems to work fine. It might be a bug on Zapier’s end. Would you mind checking with their support team?

My integration works as long as I use the “Row Updated” trigger and not the “Created or Updated” trigger. I won’t be able to troubleshoot this directly with Zapier as I’ve already spent quite a bit of time on it and I have a functional workaround.

If anyone else encounters this issue, definitely do talk to Zapier.
