This is spectacular @jonatan.jacobsson! A while ago we developed a prototype of a concept for comprehensive color management in Baserow, and one of the key elements was the Color Field. We’ll publish it right here.
This is the overall concept of the prototype:
Baserow Color Center
Centralize color management from a new master table.
Settings, parameters, and connections are managed from Color Center (master table). There, colors are linked to various elements or groups (color palettes) are created. Being centralized, only a single link (like link to table) is needed to the different Workspace elements (Databases, Tables, Fields, Applications, Dashboards). Color parameters are configured using Baserow’s native approach.
Mini
Management and assignment of configured colors is done from Color Center Mini (a small visual launcher, selector, and quick configuration creator). It replaces the current color selector within Fields (e.g., Single Select) and also replaces the color selector within Applications.
Field
Additionally, with the new “Color” Field, it can be used independently since it can be added to any table like any other Field. Its use and functionality are intended for visual purposes (quick identification without needing to configure filters). This is a very interesting field for designers, developers, and even for using Baserow as a CMS (with Webstudio, for example), making Baserow the best solution for managing content and customization.
Unifying, centralizing, and distributing from the master table enables comprehensive management of all of Baserow’s capabilities in an intuitive and native way.
Theme
It would be interesting to integrate it with dark mode and with the Zen mode proposal.
