Formula to get row_id from linked field without a lookup

It’d be great to have something working like this:

row_id(field('Linked Field'))

So that I don’t need to create a row_id formula in that linked table and then needing to use a lookup field. Instead just having a single formula.

Would be nice

This may go hand in hand with Enable sorting / filtering by row identifier ?
